Beowulf is about King Hrothgar who lives with his wife and warriors in Heorot his great hall . They spend their time singing and celebrating . There is a monster called Grendel that does not like merrt Hymaking . He attacks and kills many of he Kings warriors while sleeping . Hrothgar and his men feel helpless, so they decide to leave Heorot.

Beowulf is a young warrior from Geatland . He hears about Hrothgars problem , so he decides to help him . He and his men sleep in Heorot . Grendel attacks and kills one of his men . Beowulf fights Grendel with the help of his men. Their swords are useless because Grendel puts a charm on all human weapons . However , Beowulf tears Grendel arm, forcing him to run to his home in the lake to die.

Beowulf and his men celebrate Grendel death . Grendel mother comes to avenge her son death. She attacks Beowulf and his men who are sleeping in Heorot . she kills Aeschere , Beowulf trusted warrior . Beowulf and his men follow her to her home under a dark lake. Beowulf dives into the lake to fight her. They engage in a violent battle. However , Beowulf picks a powerful sword from her armory and cuts off her head. He also cuts Grendel head . After that, Beowulf returns to Heorot and Hrothgar gives him many gifts.

Later , Beowulf becomes king of his people . one day, a slave stole a golden cup from the den of a fire-breathing dragon. The dragon becomes angry and burns everything in sight. Beowulf and his men come to fight the dragon. Although most of Beowulf men leave him, he manages to kill the dragon. Beowulf dies affected by his wounds. He is buried on a cliff overlooking the sea , where sailors can see his burial place
